directly emailed Newton

[edit]

I've sent email directly to Newton asking for a photo with permission to use it in his article. Also for permission to improve the article from information on his website. I've asked him to amplify his position on global warming so that I don't misrepresent his position. I will look for independent quotes to see if I can find much help there. I'm not trying to create a puff piece--just make a wikipedia-quality article out of this stub. MKoltnow 23:45, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I received a very speedy response from Newton's assistant but I've been really busy and cannot do the editing right now. It includes an authorized picture of Todd for us to use in the article. MKoltnow 05:17, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Follow-up. Newton's people won't give us a photo we can use. And I fear I cannot add much more to the article that is verifiable. MKoltnow 20:50, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I wanted to say that I grew up in Oakville and Mr. Newton worked for a radio station in St. Louis called 106.5 under a psudonymn Rick Idol when his career was just beginning. I've read elsewhere that he worked for other stations but that's the one I remember. He also graduated from Oakville High. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.5.181.107 (talk) 07:17, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

@Gameshowguy1: Hi there. I see that you have uploaded the image as "own work", but it doesn't look like it (which is also noted by the metadata of the image). Please note that copyrighted content is subject to deletion per Wikipedia policies, and cannot be used in articles. As such, it would help if you clarified how exactly this is your own work. Conflict of interest

[edit]

The following post was added to my talk page, in this edit

"Hello, I hope this message finds you well. My name is Todd Newton and I am writing to you regarding some recent updates to my page that were made by my employee Facts2021 and authorized by me. Recently, we noticed those, and previous, updates were reversed by you. I have great respect for your experience and skillset with Wikipedia and only wish my page to be as current and accurate as possible. Please forgive us if some of the formatting was done incorrectly, but as the page stands now everything is up to date and as I wish it to appear. It is very important that all titles, etc., are correct so I kindly request that no further changes be made so as not to cause confusion to those gathering data from my page. Also, please note that all photos are personally owned by me so occasionally I will instruct for them to be rearranged on the page. Again, I greatly appreciate all you do to keep Wikipedia as a valued source of information. Facts2021 (talk) 15:37, 16 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have informed Facts2021 / Todd Newton (if it is actually him) that:-
Firstly it is not their page, it is Wikipedia's page about Todd Newton, and will include/exclude whatever complies/does not comply with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines
Secondly, I have informed them that we have no interest whatsoever in how they want our page to appear
Thirdly I have explained that they have a clear conflict of interest, so should not be editing this page at all, nor instructing anyone employed by them, or associated with them, to edit the page. - Arjayay (talk) 15:55, 16 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the latest set of COI edits, but the earlier ones still need to be reviewed / reverted - Arjayay (talk) 16:41, 16 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
