There's only two Tommy Campbells[edit]

There have been a few problems with editors getting confused between the subject of this article and the more recent lower division manager. An anonymous contributor sorted this out recently and posted the following in the article to explain the issue. As this is useful but not directly relevant to the article I've taken the liberty of moving it here.

The two are commonly confused, but the Tommy Campbell cited here is not the same person who at present coaches St. Johnstone's youth team and previously managed a number of Junior and lower division teams in Scotland.

In the man's own words while in conversation with the Daily Record on 6/10/97:

"Q. Which senior teams have you played for?

A. None. I had trials for Brechin, Forfar and St Johnstone but obviously I wasn't good enough.

Q. Which senior sides have you coached or managed?

A. Ian Gibson brought me in to look after St Johnstone youths. Then Alex Totten put me in control of the youths and reserves when he became boss. I took over Forfar in 1993 for four years before moving to Arbroath for five months and then to Montrose at the start of the season."
