I rated this article Start class - it can easily become C Class if more content, especially about Merritt's work as legislator, is added - the article contains very little about his views and work as it is now. The lead should also be expanded to properly summarize the article. The picture and sources are good, though business websites should if possible be replaced with other sources containing the info; also, consider making the citation style uniform. Best wishes!
