Text of treaty should be migrated to WikiSource

[edit]

I just happened to come across this a while ago and it's been on my watchlist for a while, but in looking at it now, I'm thinking that the full text of the treaty should be migrated to WikiSource and the article here reserved for discussions of its effects and aftermath.Skookum1 (talk) 17:09, 7 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. The lead could be kept as the body of the article and the rest summarized. —Charles Edward (Talk | Contribs) 19:02, 7 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. I've removed the text. This article is a shambles anyway, because we have 6 treaties to deal with, and the article mentions only one. Sbalfour (talk) 16:25, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

What happened

[edit]

No idea from this article whether the treaty is still in effect, do the miami still recieve money & salt, was it revoked, renegotiated, or what? 78.144.211.19 (talk) 22:02, 29 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The Talk page is not a forum for general discussion of the article's subject matter. Sbalfour (talk) 19:00, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Inaccurate map

[edit]

The picture/map accompanying this article is highly inaccurate with respect to the shape, extent and boundaries of the New Purchase as well as other treaty lines. It's bad enough to be actually deceiving, and ought to be corrected or deleted from the encyclopedia. Sbalfour (talk) 18:59, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
