Trollfest deletion

[edit]

I see no proper reason for deleting this page, because I think that the importance of a band does not matter that much. Also, the page is well written, and it contains information that is correct. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 8tigrams (talkcontribs) 14:06, July 7, 2012‎ (UTC)

The article still has insufficient referencing with reliable sources independent of the subject itself. Unless this can be improved I will take the article to AfD. __meco (talk) 21:21, 7 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I tried adding references from The Metal Observer to the two albums, however, this website is blacklisted, so I had to comment out the urls (they can be seen in the edit view of the articles for the albums). I also found a number of references in the German version of this page. I suggest these references can be attempted imported to this article. I looked them all up at the reliable sources noticeboard, but they all came up blank. Therefore some attention should be given to assessing whether they can be considered reliable sources. __meco (talk) 09:02, 8 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Copyrighted biography

[edit]

A user recently inserted a biographical writeup which originates from another website. The edit summary asserted, "this is not a copyrighted biography". It's not clear whether the user is familiar with copyright law and policy, so I'll try and explain the concern both ways. In virtually all developed countries in the world today, copyright covers an original work at the moment it is written down. That means that it is assumed the work is copyrighted, unless it is specifically and verifiably stated by its author that copyright no longer applies. Per WP:COPYRIGHT, Wikipedia policy is that we cannot use that material, unless we find confirmation of its public-domain status, or unless the author specifically gives permission to use the work in this context, or unless an argument for fair use can be made. None of those are viable options at present, and so per WP:COPYVIO, the material has to be removed immediately (and repeatedly, as many times as it is added) unless and until we can confirm it is no longer under copyright.

If the user inserting the writeup has evidence that it is not under copyright, or is able to negotiate appropriate permission with the original author, he or she will need to contact OTRS, so they can verify it's alright for us to keep the material onsite. Otherwise, it'll keep being removed. Chubbles (talk) 17:28, 2 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The Drummer

[edit]

The drummer pictured in the page just has the picture of the singer (Jostein "Trollmannen" Austvik), who plays percussions and the tambourines (correct me if I'm wrong) alongside his singing. But it's not the drummer of the band (Eirik "TrollBank" Renton). I don't know if it was confusion or simply just not putting in the right image file, so it would be cool if it were to be fixed.
