I believe that this article makes C-class now, although it does need copyediting all around it has a lot of content, much more than I thought there would be. Well done HurricaneSpin. Cyclonebiskit 12:06, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I did some copyediting for this article, is there anymore lacks to fix with or it should be B classed now? Hurricane Typhoon Cyclone 21:19, 28 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I noticed some spelling mistakes so i will just copyedit it and then assess it for B Class. Jason Rees (talk) 23:23, 28 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I've rushed a bit, what is the differents of CENTRE and CENTER anyways? Hurricane Typhoon Cyclone 23:49, 28 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
(ec) Nothing really - its a common spelling mistake - A center is a place eg Tropical Cyclone Warning Center, and a centre is for other uses i think but i could be wrong Jason Rees (talk) 00:09, 29 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

B Class Review

[edit]

HurricaneSpin - This isnt bad for your first article theres a couple of things that prevent it from becoming B class at this moment but when their sorted im sure you will be able to send it to GAN :)

B1 - Referencing -Whilst the references in the article are properly formatted i see great chunks needing a reference. also in the references it should be Lixon Avilla not AVILLA. You can use the same reference several times :)
B2 - Coverage and Accuracy - is the article correct? i believe it is so pass.
B3 - Structure - this bit relates to the structure - is it orgainsed - the impact isnt orgainsed and some paragraphs contain short sentances.
B4 - It needs more of a througher copyedit by someone.
B5 - Supporting Materials - Does it contain a track map, infobox, etc.
B6 - Accessabilty - Is it readable to an outsider? it needs a througher copyedit by another editor whos got a bit more time than i have at the minute

Here are my comments:

Lead

[edit]
  1. "Tropical Storm Odile was the tenth and a late season tropical storm that formed during the 2008 Pacific hurricane season." Better thesis
"Tropical storm Odile was a tropical storm that affected Mexico in October 2008," something like that. YE Tropical Cyclone  Done
  2. "From thereon, the low proceeded slowly south-southwestward before dissipating on October 13. " space between "there" and "on"
I never knew that thereof was a word. You taught me something new! So, you do not have to fix this. YE Tropical Cyclone

MH

[edit]
  1. "A tropical wave emerged off the west coast of Africa on September 23, it tracked generally westward, and merged with a separate area of low pressure over the central Atlantic on September 26." wikilink Africa, and this the wave show any signs or organization? Done
  2. "Emerging into the eastern Pacific, the southern end immediately showed signs of organization,[1] and impressive cloud patterns became notable." replaced "notable" with "present" and wlikilink eastern Pacific to Pacific Ocean. Done
  3. Cut out a few extra details in the MH. Done

Preps/Impact

[edit]
  1. Delink Hurricane watch per WP:OVERLINKING
  2. Any additional impact Done

That's it for this round. Good luck dressing these issues. YE Tropical Cyclone 04:21, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Passed. Congrats. YE Tropical Cyclone

MH (20

[edit]

Just chiming in, the MH is still pretty long. It shouldn't focus nearly as much as it currently does on the Atlantic portion. Tropical Storm Odile is only the TC that developed in the EPAC. Some genesis information is needed for context, but not 12 lines. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 19:32, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Two sentences of info on the main leg of the wave's journey isn't excessive by any means. It's just as relevant to Odile as it would be an Atlantic TC. Juliancolton (talk) 22:06, 3 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that the MH was too excessive, but I think it's a little better right now. YE Tropical Cyclone
Done removing excessive details. - HurricaneSpin Talk to me 01:08, 6 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
