WikiProject ranking

[edit]

I updated the WikiProject ranking to reflect that this is a "start" class article and that its importance is "low." -- Friejose (talk) 23:45, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Groupon Lends Importance

[edit]

Groupon, which is based on the principles of tuangou, has been described by Forbes as the fastest growing company- ever.[1] This leads me to believe that this article is much more important than 'low' importance. It's currently got a wealth of information and should continued to be expanded as tuangou becomes the next large development in social media, social science, and commerce. Protected from IP users editing this page

[edit]

I have protected this page against edits by unregistered users, due to the excessive amount of spamming of external links by IP addressed in the past few months.

If you are unregistered and have edits to this page, please contact me or another administrator about additions to the page. Please note that we will not add blank edits of 'oh, I have another group buy site'; there are about 200 North American sites offering these services; however Groupon, Living Social and BuyWithMe have 91% of the marketplace for these services; that means that averaged out, the other sites have 0.045% each of the marketplace, which unfortunately puts those sites well below notability requirements. --Thespian (talk) 02:51, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In section "In South Africa". After current paragraph, please add. Deal aggregators are also showing up in the South African market. AllDeals, which is a deal aggregator website that distributes deal updates to consumers based on the user's location is the first to aggregate deals from various group buying websites in South Africa. Currently, as of August 2011, there are a total of 5 daily deal aggregators, with "Dealafrica" being the biggest. Among these websites are Yadda, dealchecker, dealmap (under construction) and another 2 more.

Partly done: added your note about deal aggregators, however I think the external links were inappropriate. See WP:EL for more information. — Bility (talk) 23:50, 6 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi, I have created a blog that tracks the revenues and market share of all group buying sites in Australia. I think my blog will provide valuable information particularly to those interested in Australia's group buying sites. I would like to request my blog to be added to the wikipedia page, either in the body or external reference section.

here is the link
