This article needs references to the tacit "shared value" that a "life script" exists and that one must follow these prescribed steps within a prescribed timeframe to be esteemed as "successful" by society:

  1. Graduate high school
  2. Graduate college
  3. Start a career
  4. Get married
  5. Buy a house
  6. Have kids
  7. (your kids go to step 1)
  8. Retire
  9. Die

By design, none of these steps prioritizes creativity. See also: socialization and ritual. 71.162.255.58 07:46, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And any source for this sweeping (and sweepingly dismissive) "life script"? 213.233.144.71 (talk) 08:58, 6 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Article needs to be forked

[edit]

The cusper archetype is wholy unrelated to the slacker/twixter one. As a cusper (and proudly not a twixter), I suggest a new article be formed.

Young adults at 12? 12 y.o.'s should still be dependent on their parents (guardians). And 29 seems too old... 17-25? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.114.68.47 (talk) 01:29, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Historic perspective

[edit]

If anything, living with parents until marriage has been the historical norm, rather than what is suggested in the article as it stands.

Someone subtly vandalized this page. I'll fix tomorrow and remove this section. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.97.221.98 (talk) 20:58, 18 November 2013 (UTC) Rather humorous vandalism though, I have to admit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.97.221.98 (talk) 21:08, 18 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
