Currently this event is listed at Wikipedia:In the news/Recurring items, meaning that it has been judged significant enough that, if nominated, it will always be posted to the In the news section of the main page (subject to article quality being sufficient). However as it has not been nominated recently as proposal has been made to remove it from that list. If the proposal is successful, the event may still be nominated but the nomination will debate the significance of the event as well as article quality.
