[edit]Removed the below statement and reference. The US Karate Association was an amateur tournament karate organization, the PKA was a pro-kickboxing/full-contact karate organization. One did not affect the other. Further, the referenced source does not support the stated conclusion.
"The USKA lost ground to the Professional Karate Association with the advent of televised kickboxing in the seventies and eighties, and eventually declined to a membership limited to Trias' Shuri-ryu style."[1] --Paul Maslak (talk) 23:46, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
