Parrot[edit]

Eagle versus Parrot: Isn't the bird depicted in the seal a parrot? I remember my seniors telling us before that the bird is definitely not an eagle. They said it was a parrot because of its seemingly intellectual skills such as mimicking speech. Kindly clarify.

I agree! During Freshman Orientation they told us it was a parrot.

I hope this can be clarified as a lot of students have been mislead if it is indeed an eagle.

Does anyone know what happened to the seal used during the 1998 Centennial? The one showing Oble on a reversed maroon triangle, surrounded by a green circle in flaming letters. I'll link if I find a sample.

And I could have sworn that the symbols were supposed to represent Engineering, Medicine, and Agriculture.

Alumni could attest the varsity team was once known as parrots... It is inconceivable to have that name if the bird in the logo is not a parrot. I say this article got it completely wrong. And what's that listed in "References"? a forum? Weird! Toopieare (talk) 10:06, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
