Gladio

[edit]

When google-ing kutlar vadisi one encounters gladio a lot. Is this related to the NATO-CIA terror group??? [1] 85.197.25.108 (talk) 23:00, 30 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, this refers to Operation Gladio, and as far as I can tell "Kurtlar Vadisi Gladio" is the name of another film released in 2009 in the franchise. I believe that the movie further extends the franchise's treatment of the deep state theme, a (unique?) political and cultural phenomenon in Turkey. Extensive information about the movie is hard to come by, and there's only a short teaser description at Kurtlar Vadisi Gladio's website under "Film Hakkinda" and a page on IMDB's page. turkish version

[edit]

a fan of this series has to write nice article with deep details. i cant start an article from the beginning in turkish nor english. someone, please writes in turkish, then we'll translate it. this is the most of important of all of turkish series.

...we need nice writers in wikipedia community

We need separate articles on the three television series as well as certain characters (about 10 to 15). Biographical information about the director and some players are also required. Although I personally hate the franchise and what its stands for I agree that it is important for Turkish television, cinema and popular culture as well as Wikipedia's contents. Role model for murder attempt on priest in Turkey

[edit]

The controversial "The Valley of the Wolves" incited the 19-year-old Ramazan Bay to stab a catholic priest on Sunday at his church in Izmir in western Turkey.[1]

  • In fact the young man told police that he took the decision to stab the priest after searching the internet for information on Christian activities and watching the last episode of a made-for-TV movie titled The Valley of the Wolves, which focuses on alleged Christian propaganda and proselytising.[1]

This information can be added to the main article. However we would need additional information. For example the Turkish General-Directorate for Security (Turkish police) paid for sociological and psychological studies to study the franchise's impact. Moreover Turkish public prosecutors opened several investigations and law suits against it. And of course RTÜK made the second series get cancelled. POV

[edit]

With respect to the author, this article has major issues. Its obviously from Turkish POV, which seems very out of place on english wikipedia. This really needs some sort of "Critism Section" that at least mentions the allegations of anti-semitism. 70.160.165.32 (talk) 23:36, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I wouldn't say Turkish, but rather fan point of view. Anyway I have just improved the article and it no longer includes such a POV. Moreover I have mentioned all types of controversies and allegations about the franchise including anti-semitism (And I agree: It's anti-semitic.) Alternate title?

[edit]

I just redirected the article Wadil Ziab here, because it was described as also being "Valley of the Wolves" starring Necati Sasmaz. Is this a name for the show in a different language? Calliopejen1 (talk) 20:27, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Only just heard of the show but that is a translation of the title to arabic. 78.102.78.31 (talk) 22:39, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
