Reserve fund[edit]

I've removed this edit by 2806:1000:8100:7b05:90d:b2f7:6cb0:8f59:

"As of 2019, Von Ormy is notable for having no debt, no municipal property taxes and a reserve fund of over 100% of its annual budget."

Texas Observer is a reliable source[edit]

It is frankly laughable that the article by the Texas Observer is not a reliable source. It's a well known magazine with an established history. The journalist directly investigated and interviewed actual residents of the town. Perhaps you could say that the magazine has a left-wing bias, but this is not a valid reason to exclude it, as per WP:BIASEDSOURCES. I'd like to understand why some users feel that it's not a reliable source.

Further, I'd like to know why the same arguments don't seem to apply to the article by the Texas Public Policy Foundation. The TPPF has a very strong interest in pushing that Von Ormy's libertarian turn has been globally positive since they are explicitely a right-wing think tank who's whole reason for existing is to push such ideas. Their article completely ignores any of the negative impacts of the decision (while TO's article does mention the positives).

Removing one while keeping the other is a clear violation of WP:NPOV. Keeping both helps to paint the clearest view of the situation. 66.131.141.123 (talk) 18:59, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

One has to wonder why there is no discussion of the failure of libertarian government in Von Ormy, as reported in Texas Observer and many other reliable sources such as San Antonio Express News.
Surely there needs to be some discussion in the article about the city government's major failures. 58.6.169.71 (talk) 04:00, 28 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
An editor asked for consensus to add the Texas Observer source as reliable. I am contributing to that consensus. It should be added. Axem Titanium (talk) 21:33, 2 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
