[edit]Information requested: As a "biographical" entry, this article would be helped if it included a bit more about McCracken's background. Minimally, place and date of birth, schooling, or other biographical "facts." Perhaps information about other works, contributions by McCracken hopefully with citations provided. Thank you. --Mack2 14:24, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
This is perhaps just a myth, but I have heard that McCracken is no longer in employ with the Red Sox. Can anyone validate this, and if so, shed light on the reasoning? Javaisfun 04:07, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
Hi, no one's volunteered any info, so I suppose I'll supply it. I figured if someone knew my actual first name was "Robert," they'd know the rest. All I'll supply is my name, date and place of birth. The stuff about my schooling (or lack thereof) is irrelevant because it was unrelated to my baseball work, and I am of no particular interest outside of that domain. As for the Red Sox, it's correct that I stopped working for them after the 2005 Amateur Draft. I have not worked for any MLB teams since. The reasons for my leaving the Red Sox are mostly uninteresting and something I think both myself and the Red Sox would leave out of the public domain. I'll only say the decision was amicable on both sides and count people who remain in that front office as my friends and was grateful for the wonderful experiences I had there. Shalom.
