Does anybody know, whether Hampton represented a certain party during service in parliament? birthdate as May 3 1854, the eight child, and seventh son of Anthony Hampton and his wife Elizabeth.

The article has several sources that give birth years. The Biographical Directory of the US Congress gives 1752 but the others all give 1754. Henry Adams also gives 1754. One hesitates to discount a congress.gov site, but so be it. I think I will change the birth year to the consensus 1754, and add inline citations.
