Hardcore/Metalcore
[edit]Calling WOJ a hardcore band is not genre specific enough. Whilst in conversation the band are labelled a hardcore band the truth is they are a sub-genre of hardcore punk called metalcore - a fusion of heavy metal and hardcore punk. Typically their music is influenced by heavy metal acts such as Slayer, Metallica etc...and also by traditional hardcore punk bands like Minor Threat and Black Flag. Early hardcore has played a huge influence on the way many of todays bands sound, yet so many of them are wrongly applied the label hardcore. WOJ and Minor Threat have very different sounds, and would confuse someone who knew little on the subject of hardcore. (Roguestate 09:03, 24 December 2006 (UTC))
- WOJ sounds more like hardcore punk than metalcore to me. At least most of their stuff anyway. 71.61.250.56 (talk) 03:44, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
- I wouldn't call them metalcore either, metalcore is "mainstream" music like Trivium, combining elements of Thrash Metal, Melodic Death and Hardcore-like vocals (but no punk vibes). There's been a lot of bands mixing Punk Hardcore and Metal (Heavy/Thrash/Death) before this "metalcore" trend appeared, e.g. : Stormtroopers Of Death, Vision Of Disorder, Superjoint Ritual (hell I wouldn't like to be the man telling Phil Anselmo he played "metalcore")
I think people are confusing "Metalcore" and "Hardcore Metal" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.193.29.116 (talk) 22:13, 11 October 2009 (UTC) walls of jericho is a hardcore band. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.67.201.149 (talk) 09:20, 18 January 2014 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Withdevilsamongstusall.jpg
[edit]Image:Withdevilsamongstusall.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
