Deletion[edit]

I contest the speedy deletion of this article as non-notable. Rea is cited in many books about the Seventh-day Adventist Church (such as Seeking a Sanctuary, widely acknowledged as the best book on the church), even mentioned in several paragraphs of a Time article. He was one of the majors figure of his time to criticise the writings of Ellen White, and helped to dramatically shift the scholarship of the church. He had a significant role in the history of the church. Colin MacLaurin (talk) 16:40, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of material[edit]

Much material was recently removed, citing "WP:ELNO # 11". However, sources like Alden Thompson do consistute recognized authorities. Much material was added which defended Ellen White's inspiration. However this material did not even relate directly to Walter Rea, the subject of this article. I have undone these revisions. Please see the policies on neutrality and verifiability for a start. I reverted the addition of information apparently copied from Inspiration of Ellen G. White. While the material was important and well sourced, the full debate belongs in that article, not the present one which is about an individual only. Adventist responses to Ray particularly would be relevant. Colin MacLaurin (talk) 06:11, 1 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
