Opening sentence probably should be reworded to conform to rest of article

[edit]

Currently, the opening sentence reads, The Wang-Koo summit (汪辜會談/辜汪會談) was an attempt at a cross-strait meeting ... However, the rest of the article clearly indicates that Wang and Koo did meet. (That is, they did much more than attempt to meet; they did meet.) To edit this, here is a suggestion:

  1. Delete the words "an attempt at" from the opening sentence.
  2. Add a sentence to follow, something like, "This was an attempt to prepare for meetings of government officials."

The exact wording requires more expertise than I have. I was going to type "government-to-government officials" but some persons or officials might view such a phrase as incorrect. Oaklandguy (talk) 02:40, 11 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
