Odawa?
[edit]In 2013 Drdpw changed Wawatam's tribal affiliation from Ojibwe to Odawa. Why? Kevin1776 (talk) 21:15, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Kevin1776: I presume the web page document cited, "A Tribal History Of The Little Traverse Bay Bands Of Odawa Indians", said so. When I took a look today, the link to it was no longer good. Looking for an additional source I found that the Canadian Dictionary of Biography has an entry for Wawatam. Contrary to the earlier source, the CDB article says that Wawatam was Ojibwa. Perhaps there are other sources out there that can bring clarity to this. Cheers. Drdpw (talk) 22:05, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Drdpw:. This is an archive of the web page in question. It does not mention Wawatam. It does say (correctly) that Waganawkezee was an Odawa town. I wonder if you found a different source. It does seem possible that your info is correct, though it is contradicted by the DCB, as you say. Kevin1776 (talk) 22:54, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
