Looking at Google Earth, the reservoir is around 7.9 km (4.9 miles) from Bolton town centre. While it is around 12.4 km (7.7 miles) from Blackburn town centre. As such, why is there a "buildings and structure in Blackburn" catagory on the article? I am going to remove that now. •• Fly by Night (talk) 23:21, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I really don't know what to do. This reservoir is closer to Bolton than Blackburn; but it is neither in Bolton nor Blackburn. It is in the unitary authority area of Blackburn with Darwen. But no category for this area exists. To say that it is a structure in Blackburn is as incorrect as in is to say that it's a structure in Bolton. The category "buildings and structures in Lancashire" directs to another menu and isn't much use. Would is be possible to create a new category for Blackburn and Darwen? •• Fly by Night (talk) 00:03, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I did un and ah about it before adding the category 'Buildings and Structures in Blackburn'. In the end I went for it because by comparison with the other categories of 'Buildings and Structures in ...' Blackburn is the local authority cf 'Buildings and Structures in Pendle'. That said I've no objection if there is a new category 'Buildings and Structures in Blackburn with Darwen', to which 'Buildings and Structures in Blackburn' would be a sub category?
