Surprisingly the German Wikipedia currently has more info on Wes than the English Wikipedia. Here is the German main article loosely translated:

Grown up is Carr in Gawler and lived at One Tree Hill for a period in the north that south Australian metropolis Adelaide. At 15 years of age it went with its father at the east coast to Bondi (Sydney). There it appeared already in young years in pub. Next to the guitar, it controls also piano, harmonica and percussion.

It became acquainted with beginning of the 2000 Ben Gillies, that percussion the volume Silverchair, and established the volumes Tambalane with it 2003 as next to project.
