History articles for Barnet[edit]

These were a terrible mess with lots overlap, duplicated articles etc. Each "History of..." article should now directly relate to a district page:

The articles about formal parishes/districts should be named as such - otherwise it is consfusing to the reader as the parish/urban district/municipal boroughs usually covered a greater area than the town they were named after. These articles take the form of the name and status when it was abolished in 1965:

Redirects can be created for example from Hendon Urban District and the changing status shown in the article. As all these districts are historical anyway the articles do not need to be called "History of..." Please follow these naming conventions. MRSC 10:43, 30 October 2005 (UTC)

Where the main article + history is not long enough for two articles such as in the case of West Hendon, they can be combined in one article.

Articles such as History of West Hendon, Colindale, and the Hyde should be split with the detail for each place in the relevant page West Hendon, Colindale etc. or if there is too much information a history article for each place History of West Hendon etc. MRSC 15:30, 1 November 2005 (UTC)
