Suspects and motives

[edit]

The current list doesn't accurately reflect the current status of the storyline. Currently the trailer highlights Denise, Max, Lauren, Peter, Jane and Ian and briefly shows Kat, Mick, Cindy, Jake, Whitney, Bianca, Sharon, Phil and Dot but doesn't give any reasons. Reasons may come to light between now and the 30th Anniversary but for now the storylines we can actually source only implicate Max, Peter, Whitney, Jake and possibly Cindy as potentially having a motive to kill her and all of them revolve around jealousy. No one else has a clear motive (including Ian, Lauren and Denise) so it would be original research to put anything in this article about them until the storyline clearly implicated them. ~~ Peteb16 (talk) 23:10, 18 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, it's rather the official line that "everyone" is a suspect: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2/eastenders/news/a557979/eastenders-plans-biggest-ever-marketing-campaign-for-lucy-beale-death.html#~oEwal7h5ilwTPM I think the list has to be removed, as it's OR not to include anyone right now. Agreed, there are sources to prove a character has a motive, but using that to declare a character is suspect seems very OR. Plus doesn't this whole concept of reporting whom the viewer regards as a suspect and why, rather than who is suspected in the fictional narrative of EastEnders, go against WP:MOSFICT? ~~ Peteb16 (talk) 13:44, 17 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I was hoping to expand on this article (though I've been away from Wikipedia for a few months and therefore have a lot to catch up on) using sources to explain why certain specific people are thought of as suspects by the media, while also mentioning that "everyone's a suspect". –anemoneprojectors10:50, 27 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Large text deletions

[edit]

I've reverted several edits by an IP 151.225.149.107 as they not only seem odd and unusual, but usually large text deletions on a pretty established article are done via consensus. I'm raising the concern here not as an individual for or against said removals, but to notify the contributes to the article to make you aware. I'm also going to revert the article to the last stable version before the large changes and unsourced changes began. Dusti*Let's talk!* 17:26, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Lucy's relationship with Danny isn't relevant to the storyline, as Danny had already left the series and it was quickly established that he wasn't a suspect. –anemoneprojectors19:22, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure what was odd or unusual about removing a large amount of irrelevant additions, such as Danny Pennant's involvment and the fact that Jake shares a flat with Tosh, Tina, Dean etc. none of which is related to the investigation. The storyline is already big and complicated enough to document without including a host of (so far) irrelevant characters in the text. 151.225.149.107 (talk) 21:21, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Suspect list

[edit]

Just because the suspect list has been cut down, DO NOT remove anyone from the list. At one point, everyone was a suspect so they should remain in the list. ThisIsDanny (talk) 23:20, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't removed anyone from the list, but have separated the original suspects from those confirmed yesterday in non-table form. --RachelRice (talk, contribs) 01:40, 3 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Where is the confirmed list? There is no way of proving that Emma even texted the killer never mind the killer was there when the text was sent. The text said "I can't keep the secret" why not "I can't keep your secret". It's all still a big mystery, no one should be separated from the list, why should they be? They were all a suspect at one point. Just because they've narrowed it down doesn't mean you have to have separate lists that's just silly. They could decide to narrow it down again, and again. Think about it. ThisIsDanny (talk) 23:28, 3 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
How absolutely disrespectful and rude of you. I worked quite hard on that list, making sure it was accurate and that no information was based on speculation, only from episodes and news articles alone, and it's quite disheartening that you reverted it without full reasoning. Those fourteen people have been confirmed as the narrowed down suspects by Dominic Treadwell-Collins (see this tweet that was retweeted by him) and shall remain that way until the 30th anniversary, and I have even provided a source so you wouldn't get worked up about there not being evidence. The intent of the scene was to show who the suspects were. --RachelRice (talk, contribs) 05:27, 4 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Fine, I'll accept how it is now although it's all unsourced. You need reliable sources to back the information up. ThisIsDanny (talk) 14:46, 4 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I'll fetch some now. --RachelRice (talk, contribs) 22:24, 4 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, Danny and Rachel for that. — | Gareth Griffith-Jones |The WelshBuzzard| — 10:51, 5 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Alibis

[edit]

I notice you haven't added them all in due to lack of evidence. Well will this do? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGGetCRhq9E — Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.62.88.239 (talk) 22:21, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Development section

[edit]

I have added an "outdated" banner to the Development section. I think it needs much more information, as so far it only includes the main creation of the storyline and the suspects reveal, which happened a year later. There's a lot in between that is missing. — RachelRice (talk, contribs) — 03:33, 7 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

"As of May 2016, eleven people know that Bobby killed Lucy"

[edit]

An editor added this to the article - it used to state the number of chracters who know but I think I removed it for whatever reason. Anyway, as of last night's episode, I counted the following (not really in order): Jane, Ian, Peter, Cindy, Liam, Max, Lauren, Sharon, Phil, Dennis, Bobby, Kathy, Ben, Mick, and Emma, although she died since finding out. That's 15, and I might have forgotten someone, so I don't know where 11 came from. But it's not worth adding back as Bobby's basically announced it in the pub and although nobody who heard it knows the absolute truth, a lot of them believe it, plus it's likely that at some point fairly soon, every character will know. And anyway, I see no point in stating the number of characters who know as the number varies throughout the storyline and it's not really important anyway. Also, actually millions of people know. anemoneprojectors 11:22, 24 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
