Help for Draft: Aditya Tiwari
Hi,
I created this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Aditya_Tiwari with more references. The earlier version of this page was approved. However, it was speedily deleted as a recreation of the article that was up at AFD.
I request you to kindly look into it and help me revive the page.
This writer, author, and activist has brought about significant change in the queer space in a country like India, where “queer rights” are a lot more necessary and required. This page qualifies and should be included on Wikipedia because this person has sufficient notability to be here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Plushwiki21 (talk • contribs)
- Adding signature and courtesy ping Spiderone, AngusWOOF and Luciapop who Plushwiki21 also queried. Plushwiki, please note the three best sources which you believe make Tiwari meet the GNG. Star Mississippi 01:30, 25 August 2021 (UTC)
- (reposting comment from my own talk page) Plushwiki21 these are newer sources so creating Aditya Tiwari again is potentially okay as, with the new sources, it may not be eligible for G4. That being said, the depth of coverage on these sources isn't that strong as it's mostly just passing mentions or brief quotes from Tiwari. Spiderone(Talk to Spider) 05:30, 25 August 2021 (UTC)

The media sites themselves seem okay, but my concern is that the sources are either one-on-one interviews with Tiwari or only passing mentions of his appearance at a large-scale event (50+ guest speakers, mostly remoting since it was during Covid stay-at-home). There needs to be more balanced sources that review Tiwari's work. Sources need to be brought up that show notability since the AFD in Feburary 2021. I had originally accepted a previous draft as a stub paragraph, but then it was G4'ed soon afterwards, not sure who initiated it, but if this poet is indeed notable, I suggest going back to that version that was posted since I had cleaned up a bunch of his references. - @DMySon: who initiated the G4 on 7 August. @BlueEmeralds: for working on that previous version. AngusW🐶🐶F (bark • sniff) 17:43, 25 August 2021 (UTC)
Hi, User:AngusWOOF Thank you for your help. I wrote to User:Ritchie333 about how I created the page by extracting sources on Tiwari's career from the internet. Since there are other people with the same name. I named this new page, which you've withheld as "Aditya Tiwari (Poet)" for more accuracy. Also, in order to search this entity, one needs to put in this or this on their search engine and one might also see that they have a Google knowledge panel to their name as a poet. I would kindly request everyone to look into this with sensitivity and approve the newly created page with more references. This writer, author, and activist's page qualifies and should be included on Wikipedia, as this person has sufficient notability to be here. Tiwari is now far more notable as of February 2021 from sources like GQ, Grazia, The Quint, and elsewhere. Not only that, but I also found out that he's written for some acclaimed publications like Vice and FirstPost, among others. I honestly do not see any reason to not include this entity's page here. Do let me know what all of you think! : @DMySon: RationalPuff, Luciapop, Daiyusha — Preceding unsigned comment added by Plushwiki21 (talk • contribs) 22:27, 25 August 2021 (UTC)
- Comment: After checking all the references closely, i can say the subject is only notable for his work "April is Lush" and that is not enough to its inclusion on Wikipedia. Most of the references are just passing mentions and only talking about his only work "April is Lush", and these are not from reliable resources or not significant coverage which are independent of the subject. For now it seems like a case of WP:TOOSOON. DMySon (talk) 08:12, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
- Hi! Just curious what you think of what I've drafted as a revised version. I think all the sourcing should be good, do you think the subject is notable for inclusion here? Please see Draft: Aditya Tiwari I'd appreciate your feedback. Plushwiki21 (talk) 14:42, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
Feedback
@Bluerasberry and RachelWex: Hello! Curious what you two think of what I've drafted so far. I think all the sourcing should be good, but I'm not sure about the last sentence of the "History" section ("Events have also been hosted by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art, New York Public Library, and Nova Southeastern University.), which is sourced by the hosting organizations as event promotions. Should this last sentence be removed? Other ideas or concerns?
I'm not quite sure about notability yet, so I'm keeping this in the draft space for now. Thanks for any feedback. ---Another Believer (Talk) 03:36, 7 June 2020 (UTC)
- My opinion is that this draft passes Wikipedia's notability criteria. It is not unlikely that this program could get further media attention within a couple of months, so we could hold it till after then. Otherwise, publishing now seems fine.
- The last sentence is fine. That format is in the model of how Wikipedia documents multi-site events, like demonstrations, touring shows, and natural occurrences. It is giving due weight to multiple reliable sources all talking about the same trend. Blue Rasberry (talk) 17:50, 7 June 2020 (UTC)
- Bluerasberry, OK, thanks for sharing your thoughts. I will maybe have a few more people review as well, and see if there's any additional press coverage before moving into main space. If you happen to know of any other helpful sources, please feel free to share. Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 17:51, 7 June 2020 (UTC)
- Bluerasberry, Since the draft was nearly deleted for lack of recent changes, I've gone ahead and submitted a technical request to move this page into the main space over the current redirect. Happy editing! ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:58, 23 February 2021 (UTC)
