Two notes: 1) I found a Google Books link that gets his information slightly wrong (calling him Solicitor General 1881-1883), but it refers to an article in the Times, dated 9 November 1909. If anyone has access to that, this is probably a short bio written on his retirement from the bench, and should give the date of his being made QC and verify the other information in the article. 2) His father, Rev. William Johnson, was the son of Rev. William Moore Johnson (d. 1849), rector of St. Perran and formerly of Henbury; this William Moore Johnson was co-editor with Thomas Exley of the "Imperial Encyclopedia" in 1812 and may be of some interest, although biographical details about him are very scant indeed. I have photographic portraits of him also various other original documents which should clarify dates - Corinna seeds (talk) 19:23, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have the original illustrated scroll of his appointment as Attorney General of Ireland - with Victoria's seal etc The Queen appoints him to be attorney general of Ireland (he is referred to as being previously solicitor general) on 12th november 1881 Corinna seeds (talk) 20:51, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
