Miscellaneous
[edit]This article reads really poorly, like some sort of advert. 75.172.93.149 (talk) 02:11, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
The section "Ecology and water shortages" listing the quote "Mark Groves, of Brighton-based Groves Window Cleaning....." is very specific in terms of identifying the author of the quote and his window washing business but does not offer any reason for the significance of the opinion or how it has any explicit value within the topic.Goodpaster (talk) 15:08, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
It does read poorly, window cleaning is more than just a job. It's a lifestyle. I mean if you're doing it old school with an applicator and squeegee and the now illegal but infamous 60 footer. I never like the tucker poles, once you get them extended it's a lot of effort moving them around! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.108.208.153 (talk) 04:20, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
Working to clean up
[edit]In view of the time between all of the previous comments here and the present day I placed all old comments under the 'Miscellaneous' heading, and began a table of contents. I will be working on various items to add sources, links to appropriate wikis, wiki-fying, etc. as the time allows me. There is no particular order to the way I will be doing this, so anyone else please feel free to pick up wherever is needed. Observations :
- Needs better NPOV
- Needs more sources, definitions, citations, etc.
- More data needed for further information
- Just general cleanup and additional content.
Let's see what we can do. Der.Gray (talk) 00:25, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
Removed link, please check for context
[edit]Removed the link to :
- [1] since I did not see contextual relevance. Preserving it here in case I missed something or if it may be used on a more appropriate page.
- [2] This link now leads to a [[HTTP 404|404 error], please check to see if the content is preserved somewhere, such as The Way Back Machine or perhaps just moved to another location. I'm not sure of what relevance this link did have when it was originally added, but am guessing it should be checked to see if it should remain.
Hydrophobic Window Cleaning
[edit]Here are some links for information on [Hydrophobic Window Cleaning]. I saw it had been removed, I've never heard of it and just checked when I saw the removal, these are to justify adding it back and undoing the removal. Also they may assist in someone starting a stub or article for that non-existant(so far) entry.
I am glad to see someone trying to give a hand with the article though :) Der.Gray (talk) 04:28, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
- Just found this as well, though some of the claims here seem possibly a bit dubious and non-NPoV - [6] Der.Gray (talk) 04:30, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
Table for scaffold or here
[edit]Scaffolds are much nicer to work from sometimes, but they are much more dangerous.

- I don't see where the conclusion in the heading comes from. We'd need a reliable source that has done the statistics. Dmcq (talk) 14:43, 17 March 2013 (UTC)
Globalization
[edit]I have added "Globalize" templates pointing out that parts of the article focus exclusively on window cleaning in the United States and/or the United Kingdom. Specifically, the new "History" section I have added contains information only about window cleaning in New York City. Gildir (talk) 15:45, 16 March 2015 (UTC)
