Legislator images

[edit]

@Asdasdasdff This might be a completely random question, but do you know whether images from https://docs.legis.wisconsin.gov/2023/legislators/assembly and https://docs.legis.wisconsin.gov/2023/legislators/senate are usable on wikipedia in some form, or if using them complies with copyright and other things? I notice that many, many, many legislators do not have images on wikipedia, and the ones that do often have low quality images of them while they are on campaigns, and some also have very old pictures (Robin Vos' wikimedia pictures are all from 2011 for example). Yeah, this was something I tried doing many many years ago, but got stopped dead and was told at that time that those images didn't meet the fair use standard or whatever. I do think there's been some liberalization of the rules on that in the years since I last attempted it, but I don't really know. Is there like a copyright wikiproject that can answer this? -- Asdasdasdff (talk) 05:04, 9 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
