Nicholas Ashton - something very wrong

The article can't be right. We are saying that Nicholas Ashton bought the place in 1722 and died 111 years later in 1833. I'm not sure where the info comes from because it is not cited. - Sitush (talk) 17:36, 23 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

We're also saying he was High Sheriff at the time of purchase, which seems likely to be an anachronism because the only mention at High Sheriff of Lancashire (also seemingly unsourced) says 1770. - Sitush (talk) 17:40, 23 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Sitush: Thanks for spotting these errors, I have made amendments and added a source. It appears that the house was actually bought by Ashton in 1772 not 1722 and Ashton was only High Sheriff in 1770. Tsange (Talk) 13:54, 25 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
