TheV0id disqualified as WCOOP champion
[edit]pokerlistings.com, Confirms this story, without saying who TheV0id is although it has been rumored although I don't think it will be confirmed by stars due to this statement "Please note that we are unable to release further details of this investigation, for reasons of confidentiality and privacy.", I believe that the adjustment to this article shouldn't be made until pokerstars release the new payout list, or does anyone think it should be done now, if so, how, the site doesn't reflect it as of yet [1], but the release from stars that mention at pokerlistings is here http://www.pokerlistings.com/thev0id-disqualified-as-wcoop-champion-19321 ▪◦▪≡ЅiREX≡Talk 00:31, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
- It seems clear he was disqualified and the money will be redistributed, but even the PL story refers to "an announcement found on many online sites..." which would seem a few miles short of WP:V. I say we change this page as soon as Pokerstars changes their results page (or officially releases a statement on one of their domains). 2005 00:56, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
- Pokernews story out now that doesn't have the dubious "found on many online sites" waffle. I sourced it, but when Pokerstars changes their results page the ref should probably be that. 2005 11:09, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

Cheating
[edit]This is not to do with the article per se, but I play Scrabble online and you could never do any tournament where you were playing for money because people would just cheat. It's the easiest thing in the world. I'm always baffled why people play for money online at poker because of this. Is it just not possible to cheat at poker online? Please reply on my talk page if you can be bothered. Mglovesfun (talk) 22:44, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
2008 WCOOP Event 1
[edit]There has been some confusion over the actual first prize for Event 1. According to the WCOOP page on PokerStars' Web site, it is the amount slightly over $200,000. From information gathered from people watching on 2+2 forums, the deal involved the winner taking 180,000ish with the winner getting the extra 20,000 as per PS rules. For now, I believe it should remain as is on the page, but any further info leading otherwise should necessitate any changes. Stsharp413 (talk) 19:24, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
they are showing the re-play now, the deal is correct, shane won $180,856 + $20,000 as winner for a total of $200,856 this was the deal "

WCOOP Event #6: $530 NLHE
[edit]This event was a two day event with the time still showing day 1 as running, except the tournament clock stopped after level 22 (about 11 hours of play) then resumed the next day at 4:45pm est, however the WCOOP blog for this event, marks the 18th hour overall on the second day at 12:41 am with the day 2 tournament clock ending at 1:11am at the pokerstars lobby of day 2 so...
"12:41am--Chip counts at 18-hour mark" + 30 mins = 1:11am tournament ends on pokerstars lobby for a total of 18 h 30 mins
Does anyone see anything wrong with this math? ▪◦▪≡SiREX≡Talk 13:33, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
- never mind they weren't marking each of the other hours exact.▪◦▪≡SiREX≡Talk 16:43, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
Real Names of event winners
[edit]I'm going to do what I can to clean up the Winner column. Snow Leopard, who won event #1 of the 2005 WCOOP was said to be Hasan Habib, but I was unable to find any evidence to back up this claim (and personally, as someone that has extensive knowledge of the screen names of notable players, I have never heard anyone I know claim that this is Hasan's account). The same can be said for starkitty, who was listed as Kristy Gazes. Steveodwyer (talk) 13:59, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

df1986 Prize
[edit]He didn't receive the entire prize for the first place because he made a deal at the final table. Unfortunately, by now I have no proof of it, but it could be veryfied. He received about 160 thousand dollars. The second place won more than him, next to 170 thousand dollars. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.129.144.130 (talk) 20:05, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
