[edit]- Notability - have added external references from media sources such as The Age and 702 ABC Sydney. There are a number of existing links and references to YAS across wikipedia including Kylie Sturgess, Desiree Schell, George Hrab and Australian Vaccination Network. Lukekfreeman (talk) 01:16, 4 January 2013 (UTC)
- Primary - there are a number of secondary sources including notable media and organisations such as the prominent JREF. Lukekfreeman (talk) 01:16, 4 January 2013 (UTC)
- COI - any fact checking is encouraged, there are no opinions enforced on the article. Lukekfreeman (talk) 01:15, 4 January 2013 (UTC)
- I've restored the templates. Please don't remove them without resolving the issues, which include conflict of interest, broad copyright issues, and a preponderance of primary sources; the links to The Age and 702 ABC Sydney aren't impressive for establishing notability, nor is JREF a reliable source--there need to be multiple articles published about YAS by reliable sources. Neither blogs nor mention in other Wikipedia articles are acceptable references for establishing notability. 99.156.64.147 (talk) 01:30, 4 January 2013 (UTC)
- I haven't proposed the article for deletion because I think there's a thin chance it meets notability guidelines--other experienced editors may or may not agree--but its problems as a start-up article are manifold. Please read WP:NOTABILITY as it applies to organizations and websites, WP:RELIABLE for sources, WP:COPYVIO and WP:COI regarding writing about subjects with which you're closely associated. 99.156.64.147 (talk) 01:51, 4 January 2013 (UTC)
- Luke, if you are affiliated with the subject, please be transparent and disclose this fact, as per Wikipedia:Coi#Declaring an interest. Other editors will appreciate your honesty, be more convinced that you are acting in good faith, and be more willing to help you improve the content. Thanks. --Drm310 (talk) 04:32, 4 January 2013 (UTC)
- Hi --Drm310, I wasn't sure where to do that but yes. I have been a reader and listener for a long time, and recently wrote a post for them. I noticed that there is a lot of exposure for their peers on wikipedia and thought that it was notable. I am working on cleaning up List of skeptics and skeptical organizations so I thought I would try my hand first at something I have a familiarity with. Thanks! Lukekfreeman (talk) 04:55, 4 January 2013 (UTC)
- --Drm310, I am new to editing and would appreciate any help. Lukekfreeman (talk) 04:55, 4 January 2013 (UTC)
Declaring an Interest
[edit]I'm Luke Freeman and I have been a listener of The Pseudoscientists podcast and reader of the YAS for a while. Recently I have been involved with their relaunch. I'm here to help and contribute information.

Main article rewrite
[edit]I have performed what is essentially a rewrite of the article, basing it both on the secondary sources listed in the previous revisions, as well as an independent literature search. Expansion is welcome.
- I am not affiliated with the subject.
- The article is composed of reliable, independent secondary sources, of which the subject has been the focus of significant coverage, satisfying WP:ORG.
- Primary sources were excluded with the exception of the organization's stated goals and founding information.
- One instance of self-published content is listed as a publication, but is not referenced in the article.
The above points, combined with the nature of a full article rewrite that is newly sourced, should address the concerns behind the maintenance tags that had been added.
Editor Lukekfreeman (talk), thank you for declaring your connection to the subject. I invite you to review WP:COIU#Non-controversial_edits, regarding the kinds of improvements that are appropriate for users with a declared connection to make. You might also choose to review and give feedback here regarding the secondary sources that are cited, or even consider volunteering to do so for this article using the Maintained Template, if you are interested in increasing the accuracy of this article. Impressive work Nmillerche! One small WP:COIU#Non-controversial_edits is that the podcast is mono not stereo. I'll change that. Lukekfreeman (talk) 02:57, 1 March 2013 (UTC)
