Proposed deletion of article

[edit]

I oppose the deletion of the article. The article does not fail WP:MOSFICT#Notability. Secondary sources are present. Although Baidu Baike is in Chinese, I believe it is acceptable as a source. The English translation of the novel on Wuxiapedia also serves as a reference for editors unfamiliar with the Chinese language. Quotations and information extracted directly from the primary source (the work of fiction, i.e. the novel) do not constitute OR as per Wikipedia's definition of OR. 暗無天日 contact me (聯絡) 04:41, 1 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. For fictional characters from novels, it is indeed hard to really reference it (apart from referencing the novel itself). Besides that, the article is quite done already - there is nothing that is seriously lacking in it that makes it unreadable or unacceptable. I do not see why it must be deleted. I also contesting the deletion

[edit]

I do not see anything unacceptable. The Baidu Baike is in Chinese and it can be a source. NeoBatfreak (talk) 05:30, 1 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is only a proposed deletion. If you object in any way, you can simply remove the tag. Nonetheless, the article may still undergo an AfD if Zhou Zhiruo's notability is not demonstrated. For notability to be demonstrated, there must be significant coverage in multiple reliable secondary sources. Chinese language sources are completely valid, but the primary source (the novel itself) is not. If a few more sources can be found, I don't think that an AfD would result in deletion.
