Økern[edit]

  • ... that the farm of Økern is mentioned in documents dating from the 13th century?

Created by Oceanh (talk). Self nominated at 21:21, 13 May 2014 (UTC).

  • New enough, long enough, pictures free to use, hook hooky and well sourced by offline and foreign language refs, QPQ done, no way to check for paraphrasing in foreign language and offline source. Only things holding this up is if you want to do a double nom with Tschudi, and is it a farm? It is described in Norwegian wikipedia as best I can tell as neighbourhood. Thanks, Matty.007 16:52, 19 May 2014 (UTC)
  • Thank you for the review. Økern is a former farm and current neighborhood. Tschudi played a role in early transformation, as he started parceling out the farm land. Or, as formulated below,
  • ALT1: ... that land owner Anton Tschudi parceled out parts of the farm of Økern and other properties in the former municipality of Aker, Norway?
Anton Tschudi created by Geschichte (talk), Oceanh (talk). Nominated by Oceanh (talk)..
  • The Tschudi biography was created slightly before and inspired creation of the Økern article. If the double nom comes too late, ALT1 may be used without bolding of Tschudi and without the extra credits. I added an extra QPQ, as I have a few "unused" ones. Oceanh (talk) 20:24, 19 May 2014 (UTC)
  • Fixed credits to credit you with Okern. I haven't much time now, but double nom should be fine. Thanks, Matty.007 19:13, 20 May 2014 (UTC)
  • Økern seems fine to go. Tschudi: new enough, long enough. The sentence " Vera married Gerhard C. Kallevig" seems irrelevant. On the censuses, his wife is given as Borghild Tschudi (as far as I can gather), include in article? Are you using parcels as a synonym of lots? Thanks, Matty.007 16:49, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
  • I could have sworn Tschudis was already nominated somewhere, but seems not. Asking prominent DYKer if passing both would be acceptable. Thanks, Matty.007 16:54, 21 May 2014 (UTC)
  • My experienced DYK expert says that Tschudi can't be used as it is too old I'm afraid. Thanks, Matty.007 17:44, 22 May 2014 (UTC)
  • That is ok with me (I only nominated the second article after request from creator and apparent support from reviewer; and while a bit reluctant due to creation time, it could still be passed according guideline #D9). I therefore strike out ALT1 and remove credits, and put a revised version in ALT2. To me it is no big deal which hook is preferred. Oceanh (talk) 19:18, 22 May 2014 (UTC)
  • ALT2: ... that land owner Anton Tschudi parceled out parts of the farm of Økern and other properties in the former municipality of Aker, Norway?
  • The reason I didn't D9 it was that I asked User:BlueMoonset, a reviewer whose opinion I trust completely, and he replied in the nagative. Rest of review coming soon... Thanks, Matty.007 19:52, 22 May 2014 (UTC)
  • Please source "The Alna Line, used for freight trains between the Trunk Line and the Gjøvik Line, from Alnabru to Grefsen, passes through Økern". Please clarify what was produced there. Please clarify what "Kroklia" is. Thanks, Matty.007 11:48, 24 May 2014 (UTC)
I added a reference to the sentence about Alna Line passing through Økern. The Alna Line article has further details, such as former industrial sites served by the line. The history section of Økern mentions the Standard Telephones and Cables factory, which was established close to the Alna Line. Also added some details about Kroklia, as requested. AGF on foreign language refs, good to go. Thanks, Matty.007 10:42, 26 May 2014 (UTC)
