  • New enough. Long enough. NPOV. QPQ done. None of the sources are online, although links to several of them could easily be provided. I much prefer the main hook (ALT1 is rather dull - someone had to write the column), but even if both people are dead, an online cite would be good. As none of the references are being provided online, it is not possible to check for close paraphrasing/copyvios. Her own publications in the Sources section would be better in a Publications section. The article itself would benefit from having headings. Edwardx (talk) 09:17, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for these comments. I have added the headings. I've also changed ALT1 (and the article) to make it clear that she created the Scrutineer column. And I've found an on-line source for the 'vomit' story from the Independent, but with slightly different wording to the Private Eye story, so I've changed the hook accordingly. The other references I'm afraid don't seem to be available online, as newspaper online archives seem to mostly start after 1991, but you are safe to WP:AGF with me, as I am an old WP hand...:-}...Best, --Smerus (talk) 09:51, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
  • And thank you for your rapid response. Good point about 1991 sources not being available online - my oversight. The original hook now checks out. ALT1 is better than before, with her having created it, and I'll AGF with the source, but I still prefer the first hook. Edwardx (talk) 10:59, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
  • Thanks. Yes I agree the first hook has more punch!! Alt1 is just that, an alternative.--Smerus (talk) 11:21, 8 July 2014 (UTC)
