Bluestripe butterflyfish, Millet butterflyfish

  • ... that the millet butterflyfish (pictured) and the bluestripe butterflyfish are both endemic to the Hawaiian Islands and nearby atolls? Source: "This species is endemic to the Hawaiian Islands and Johnston Atoll" and "This species is endemic to the Hawaiian Islands"

5x expanded by Cwmhiraeth (talk). Self-nominated at 07:19, 12 November 2017 (UTC).

  • Hooks are interestng enough, subject is interesting, both articles are well-sourced and the picture is appropriately licensed. Spot-checks indicate no copy-plag issues. There is one concern here: millet butterflyfish has not been 5x expanded (bluestripe butterflyfish has within the required time). However, the overall qualitative improvement to the article over the required time period - combined with the fact that it is nominated as part of a pair - is sufficient that I am willing to WP:IAR and approve it. - The Bushranger One ping only 23:39, 12 November 2017 (UTC)
  • Regrettably, the expansion of millet butterflyfish is simply not enough to qualify for an IAR exception; this is one thing that DYK is not flexible on. We allow plenty of extra time and tries to get to the 5x expansion level once the nomination is made, but we're pretty strict on the actual number of characters. If it had been a hundred or so short I might not have said anything, but this had 515 prose characters prior to expansion and should have grown to 2575 characters; it is now 1892 prose characters, only a 3.67x expansion. Cwmhiraeth, I hope you can find enough material for another 683 prose characters; it's about half the amount you originally added to the article before nominating it (1377 characters). • Sorry about that. I must have moved on to something else before I had fully expanded the millet butterflyfish. I have enlarged it now and reckon it is currently 2642 characters. @The Bushranger: If you are happy with it, please could you renew the tick. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 18:42, 9 December 2017 (UTC)
  • @BlueMoonset: Ah, I'll remember that from now on, thanks. @Cwmhiraeth:, no worries, if I had a quarter for every time I went "I know I did that-!" I'd be swimming in cups of coffee. The added material takes it over the bar with 67 characters to spare, so I beleive this is good now. - The Bushranger One ping only 22:48, 9 December 2017 (UTC)
