Captain Cook State Recreation Area
[edit]- ... that there is a park in Alaska named after a captain in the British Royal Navy? Both the Inlet and the recreation area are named after Captain James Cook who explored the area in 1778.Captain Cook SRA
- Comment: I’m not completely sold on the hook. I mean, it’s “hooky” and properly sourced and all but somehow I’m not finding it all that satisfying so if anyone has any other suggestions I’m all ears. Beeblebrox (talk) 22:31, 22 June 2018 (UTC)

Overall: Hooks ALT1 and ALT2 both approved. Flibirigit (talk) 19:38, 19 July 2018 (UTC)
Here's a couple alternate hooks ideas:
- ALT1 = ... that there is a park in Alaska named after a captain of the Royal Navy, and a campground named after his boat?
- ALT2 = ... that Captain Cook State Recreation Area was a traditional salmon fishing spot for the Dena'ina people, before being used for commercial fishing?
I did some reading on the park, and suggest using these links as supplemental references:
- Travel Alaska - Captain BeeblebroxCook State Recreation Area
- Captain Cook State Park, Kenai, AK.; Alaska Campgrounds
Beeblebrox What do you think? Flibirigit (talk) 20:11, 19 July 2018 (UTC)
- I saw those other sources when researching this. I think they could be used as external links but not as references. The campground one seems to be user-generated.
- As to the hooks.... the first one is basically the same as the one I submitted, it’s fine. The second one has a bit more history to it. I wouldn’t object to either. Beeblebrox (talk) 21:22, 19 July 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply. I will complete the review with both ALT1 and ALT2 as acceptable. Flibirigit (talk) 21:45, 19 July 2018 (UTC)
