Dewan Rabindranath Soni
[edit]- ... that Lt. Gen. D. R. Soni attended the Junior Command, Senior Command and Higher Command Courses at Army War College, Mhow? Source:Indian Express

[[File:Symbol question.svg|16px]]Article is new enough and long enough. It is neutral and well referenced. No pic to review. Hook is correctly formatted and has an inline cite. There is quite a high match of 39% on a couple of the sources using Earwig but they appear to be mostly job titles and other matches that would be expected. I am concerned that the hook is simply not very interesting. There also doesn't appear to be anything very interesting about him in the sources either though he is definitely notable. I could tick it now but is the nominator able to offer an interesting Alt first? Philafrenzy (talk) 22:59, 15 December 2017 (UTC)- @Philafrenzy: Thanks for the review. So you have a concern with the hook, I propose following alternatives:
- ALT1: ... that Lt. Gen. D. R. Soni commanded an armoured regiment, an armoured division, a corps, and the Army Training Command, before taking over as the Chief of Southern Command?
- ALT2: ... that Lt. Gen. D. R. Soni is the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command?
- ALT3:... that Lt. Gen. D. R. Soni, chief of the Southern Command, was a military observer in Iraq and Kuwait after Gulf War I?

- Article is long enough and new enough. I agree that the hook is not interesting at all - not sure there isn't anything in the article that distinguishes him from hundreds of similar General officers. Also, I would like to see the citations closer to the information they actually support rather than at the end of the paragraph. Exanple: Commissioned in 1979 (cite). Later transferred to 47 Artillery Regiment (cite) Gbawden (talk) 19:14, 24 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Gbawden: Thanks for the comment. From my knowledge, the subject doesn't necessarily be different other articles. We just need to check the hook. I've proposed alternate hooks which might be of some interest. In the past, some my similar articles have been to DYK, examples include K. J. Singh and Jasbir Walia. Also, per WP:CITEFOOT and WP:CITEBUNDLE, you need not cite each and every sentence until the text is supported by the respective citation.
