Disappearance of Federico Tobares

[edit]
  • Reviewed: Template:Did you know nominations/Amendment No. 27 to the Entry Into Israel Law
  • Comment: Several sources support the hook. Translation of sources/videos available upon request. The reason why I use "disappear" instead of "went missing" is because it is (1) shorter; (2) he is referred as desaparecido by the press; (3) Mexican law describes people gone missing as personas desaparecidas [2]; (4) kidnapping/death cannot be legally ruled yet; and (5) hook may attract more readers with this phrasing.

  • New enough and long enough. Image licensed for fair use. Hook verified (I speak good Spanish). Simon Burchell (talk) 21:34, 7 May 2017 (UTC)
  • Thanks for the review and the copyedits. Cheers! ComputerJA () 22:36, 7 May 2017 (UTC)
  • @Yoninah: First Argentine to disappear in Mexico ... not sure what the problem is. ComputerJA () 04:59, 16 May 2017 (UTC)
  • I'm just questioning whether a 2013 disappearance is really the "first" of an Argentine citizen in Mexico. What about this? Yoninah (talk) 13:23, 16 May 2017 (UTC)
  • She came back after a few days. Either way, I'm going to propose an alternate hook. Let me know if this is better. Cheers, ComputerJA () 14:14, 16 May 2017 (UTC)
  • Thank you! I'll keep this potential problem in hooks in mind for future nominations. ComputerJA () 23:21, 16 May 2017 (UTC)
