Donald J. Trump Foundation
[edit]- ... that Donald Trump created the Donald J. Trump Foundation to give away the royalties from his book Trump: The Art of the Deal?
- ALT 1: ... that Vince and Linda McMahon of World Wrestling Entertainment were the largest donors to the Donald J. Trump Foundation from 2004 to 2014?
- Reviewed: Violetta Thurstan
- Comment: Promote after November 8, 2016 (Presidential election in the USA)

- Comment - I think we should delay putting this on the front page of Wikipedia until after the November 8 election. Given that yesterday Newsweek published an investigative piece into the organization, not addressing it in this article is lacking. Right now, the hook and the article look like a violation of WP:DYKNOT
A means of advertising, or of promoting commercial or political causes. While it is fine to cover topics of commercial or political interest, DYK must not provide inappropriate advantage for such causes (e.g. during election campaigns or product launches).

- I've added an ALT 1, which I prefer. Neutralitytalk 20:46, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
- The problem with ALT0 is we can't read Trump's mind (assuming there's anything there to read anyway). EEng 06:19, 17 September 2016 (UTC)
- Good point. I have added a second reference [1] which says explicitly "In 1987, the mogul started the Donald J. Trump Foundation to donate his royalties." If you're still dubious we could add "reportedly". But it may be moot since most of us prefer ALT1 anyhow. MelanieN (talk) 14:10, 17 September 2016 (UTC)
- Full review needed; hook discussion concluded over a month ago. BlueMoonset (talk) 05:38, 22 October 2016 (UTC)
- The article is new enough, large enough and cited. Really I cannot say this is neutral, some of what is put under headings suggests no-neutrality, but I would prefer a DT supporter to give an opinion on this. MelanieN's QPQ review was very light on, but it's already promoted. Creator is credited, but perhaps PeteWL should receive credit too. The copyvio tool cannot find any real problems (only copying is quotes and names). ALT1 is short enough, in the article, cited and roughly confirmed by reference which says TWP "biggest donors to his foundation in recent years have been other people, most notably ..." —— This [2] confirms it was the biggest, so ALT1 appears correct.
