  • This meets the DYK guidelines in terms of length and date. All paragraphs are referenced, though predominantly to the journal itelf or its website. I didn't spot problematic close paraphrasing. The hook fact is sufficiently interesting; the reference checks out and is confirmed by the NLM journals database (which could be added as a reference independent of the journal). However, aficionado though I am of journal articles, I doubt whether many readers share my interests; I think it would be preferable if the article could be expanded to include some material which might have a wider interest. Hi Espresso Addict, thanks for the review and your thoughts. I am willing to add to the article, but would appreciate any suggestions that you might have. I looked at Web of Science and there are only 6 papers listed with more than 100 citations, the highest having 154 citations - so I figure writing about highly cited papers might not be easy (though I guess I could add a list of the ones above 100 citations, as is found in the Tetrahedron article, though that is for more than 1000 citations. Hi EdChem, I trawled around the journal site a bit, particularly the online issues, and there seemed a number of possible avenues for expansion.
  • The journal website claims to be one of the oldest Indian medical journals, which would be worth including if an independent source could be found.
  • As you say, a short list of their highest-impact articles would be useful, if you have access to that information. As part of the centenary celebrations, it was mentioned that they were going to republish some key papers, so some of those might be worth including in that list.
  • One of the past editorials stated that the journal sank to a very low impact factor in 2002–3 (0.45 -- see [1]) then succeeded in rescuing itself, possibly by switching to the current online publication; if you could tease out a bit of that story I think it would be of interest.
  • There's some interesting history material in the centenary editorial, here: [2]
  • The fact that they are instant-access free online content is unusual given that they are owned by Wolters Kluwer, who are not known for giving content away.
  • The mix of countries of origin for authors (mainly India/Asia, but some Europe/USA) is summarised per issue by the publisher; has this changed over time? Is the content mainly Indian specific or international, and has this changed over time?
  • Do any of their past editors-in-chief have a wiki article?

Thanks for the suggestions. As part of my investigations, I found that the inaugural editor (Sir Pardey Lukis) did not have an article, so I started one (created 14 January). I think I'll put it up for DYK and plan a new hook:
ALT1: ... that the Indian Journal of Medical Research, first edited by Sir Pardey Lukis, is celebrating its centenary this year?
I'll post when I am ready (the Lukis article passes DYK requirements, but needs work before I'd be comfortable with it on the main page as my work and its nomination deadline is still ahead. So, I reques this nomination for the journal hook not be promoted so that I may have a few more days to get things ready. I hope this is ok. Thanks. EdChem (talk) 12:12, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
I have reviewed the "Bill Cosby in advertising" article DYK nomination to satusfy the QPQ requirement for the Sir Pardey Lukis article. Thus, I have added the extra DYKmake and struck the original hook. Request re-review to add the second article. Thanks. EdChem (talk) 13:33, 21 January 2013 (UTC)

  • Second QPQ is checked. Pardey Lukis meets the length and date requirements, with AGF for the offline source to support the hook. However, there is a {{lead too long}} template on the page. The article may be too short to split up into sections but could you at least split it into more than one paragraph to rectify this? 97198 (talk) 05:32, 28 January 2013 (UTC)
