Laccognathus embryi

[edit]

Artist's impression of Laccognathus embryi

  • ALT1:... that the extinct lobe-finned fish Laccognathus embryi (reconstruction pictured) grew up to 1.8 m (6 ft) long?
  • Reviewed: Buxton Crescent
  • Comment: Note that actual expansion begins in Sept. 15, though date of creation (as a stub) is Sept. 13. On that note... since when did the cutoff date become four days? Jeez... DYK is becoming weirder and weirder.

  • I edited both hooks to change "in length" to "long." I like the fangs hook better. Both would be improved by details such as indicating that the fish is an ambush predator, but that fact is not cited in the article. The detail that it was a Devonian fish could help grab my attention, too. --Orlady (talk) 14:29, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
  • The ambush predator bit is actually referenced at the end of the paragraph. Feel free to add it to the hook, along with the Devonian info, as I honestly don't know how you're going to word it, hehe. -- Obsidin Soul 14:45, 20 September 2011 (UTC)

  • Article and hook check out OK. I have a concern about the licensing for the image. Obsidian Soul has documented where s/he got the background of the image, but I'm not clear on how the picture of the fish was generated. --Orlady (talk) 14:29, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
