Lando (archbishop of Messina)
- ... that archbishop Lando of Messina abandoned his archdiocese in 1238 and spent the rest of his life in his hometown of Anagni? - Added a link in the hook. Seems like I need to AGF on the sourcing and plagiarism/copyvio, as while I can read German there doesn't seem to be any online version of this book. Article is new enough and long enough. Not related to DYK, but I think there are Italian sources that could be used. QPQ not needed. Hook a bit so-so but passable. - @Jo-Jo Eumerus and Adam Bishop: I hesitate because the article only has WP:ONESOURCE. Lightburst (talk) 17:42, 13 February 2024 (UTC)
- I have scans of the Kamp books, I could send them to you if you'd like! There are a few other sources but they're all primary sources. For Italian sources, Ughelli (mentioned in the Reggio and Messina articles) is very old so I didn't use that. There's an article about him by Berardo Pio in the Dizionario Biografico degli Italiani, which also uses Kamp as a source, and various primary sources. Otherwise I don't think anything substantial has been written about him, especially not in English...aside from me, I've written about his candidacy for the patriarchate of Jerusalem. (But my book isn't published yet, and it would be kind of weird to cite myself, maybe). Adam Bishop (talk) 01:43, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Theleekycauldron: I think you know better than me, can I promote this article with only WP:ONESOURCE? Lightburst (talk) 04:43, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
- I would argue that such an article would be a GNG fail as written, and were the article to be notability tagged, the tag would be valid and would preclude the article from progressing. (It is admittedly rather silly, because were the single a national biographical dictionary rather than a church biodict, the article would pass NBIO and this objection wouldn't apply – but such is life.) theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 05:16, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
- I added another source, if that helps! (It's a bit old, but it's in English at least) Adam Bishop (talk) 21:31, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
