Ontario Highway 23[edit]

  • ... that Ontario Highway 23, running through the counties of Perth and Wellington, was first established in 1927?
  • Reviewed: Not a self-nomination.

Improved to Good Article status by Floydian (talk). Nominated by Oceanh (talk) at 19:13, 20 May 2014 (UTC).

  • I generally avoid nominations unless there is something interesting about the highway to share; but I guess since DYK is pretty underfilled, I'll remain mum on this one. However, I'd recommend this slightly more interesting hook:

Length, promotion date, cites all good. Accepting ALT1 oGF. Maury Markowitz (talk) 11:51, 4 June 2014 (UTC)

Regarding the depression-relief program, the article simply says "Highway 23 was extended from Highway 8 to Highway 7", with no mention of Middlesex County. If ALT1 is to go ahead, the hook fact should be stated clearly in the article, IMO. 97198 (talk) 12:01, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
How are you seeing the ref? Am I looking at the wrong one? Maury Markowitz (talk) 12:06, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
No, I mean the wiki article itself. 97198 (talk) 12:38, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
Ohhh, I get it. Ok, let's go for another:
  • That looks good and avoids the reference that most would only see if they looked at a map of Ontario with county boundaries. - Floydian τ ¢ 23:24, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
  • Review of ALT2 and update of User:Maury Markowitz's review above (which still stands). Offline citation #6 accepted AGF for ALT2. No need for QPQ. Citation #5 is flagged as uncategorized redirect but it works fine. No problems with disambigs or the other ext. links. Neutral and fully cited. No copyvio found; ext links checked. Good to go. --Storye book (talk) 10:27, 8 June 2014 (UTC)
