Papakating Creek

  • Article length and age are fine, numerous spot checks didn't turn up any copyvio or plagiarism concerns, article appears well sourced, including the hook. Hook is interesting and the image is both aesthetically pleasing and appears properly licensed. However, the St. John's wort image isn't actually used in the article. This is my first review, but I believe the accompanying image must be used in the article. Everything else looks good to go though.--William Thweatt TalkContribs 06:11, 20 October 2015 (UTC)

WilliamThweatt you are correct. The image has been placed in the article...I forgot to add it last night to the Papakating article after writing Triadenum fraseri to turn the redlink blue. Should be good to go now, I hope. JackTheVicar (talk) 12:50, 20 October 2015 (UTC)

  • Looks good. Nice work. On a side note (i.e. nothing technical about the DYK nom), since you mentioned you created the Triadenum fraseri article, I noticed it doesn't mention anything regarding the "rareness" of the species. Since the image will be in the DYK, I imagine it will get a lot of clicks. Readers may want to know just how rare it is, why it's so rare, etc. (that was one of the things I was hoping to find out as I was reading the article myself), especially since its rareness is specifically mentioned in the hook itself. Not a criticism, just an observation. I'd help out and look up refs myself because that's the kind of gnomish editing I like, but I'm short on time this week. Overall, though nice articles. Great additions to WP.--William Thweatt TalkContribs 00:18, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
  • I had solely created the Triadenum fraseri article to turn a red link blue for this DYK and for the article. If the increased attention from Papakating Creek at dyk leads some plant people to improve it, all the better. I will think about improving the Triadenum fraseri article (still trying to figure out plant article formats) but, it isn't a priority for me to perfect the article since botany, while an interest, is neither my focus nor a strength in writing/contributions.
