Qit'at Jaradah

[edit]
  • ... that Qit'at Jaradah, a disputed cay in the Persian Gulf, rises only 0.4 metres (1 ft 4 in) above water at high tide? Source: "At high tide, its altitude is approximately 0.4 meters." [1] page 844.

General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
QPQ: Done.

Overall: Article is new enough, long enough, and appropriately neutral, with no sign of copyvio issues that I can see, and a good QPQ. I've lightly edited the hook to make it flow a little more smoothly. This article is ready to go for DYK! Bryanrutherford0 (talk) 21:14, 9 October 2017 (UTC)

  • Bryanrutherford0, I don't agree with the changes you made to the hook. I'm not sure why you added "disputed" since the sovereignty has been decided since 2003. And I much prefer "island" to "cay" as an island whose height is only a half meter seems more interesting ("hooky"). The ICJ ruled it was an island. I propose: MB 01:58, 10 October 2017 (UTC)
  • ALT1 ... that Qit'at Jaradah, an island in the Persian Gulf, rises only 0.4 metres (1 ft 4 in) above water at high tide?
