RV Le Suroît[edit]

Le Suroît docked in Concarneau

  • ... that the computer facilities of Le Suroît (pictured), one of the ships involved in the discovery of the wreck of Titanic, includes an HP 4500 colour A4 printer?

  • Comment: I asked at WT:DYK#Special holding what acceptable lengths for special occasion holding was. Assuming it's 6 weeks, I request that (providing the hook is promoted) that this is held until 15 April to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Titanic's sinking. Thanks in advance. matt (talk) 17:34, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
  • Is this really a noteworthy fact? To me, it doesn't seem all too notable. Ed [talk] [majestic titan] 21:02, 17 March 2012 (UTC)
  • I agree, it's not very notable (or interesting for that matter), so I suggest the following alternative. Prioryman (talk) 23:47, 17 March 2012 (UTC)
ALT1 ... that the French research vessel Le Suroît (pictured) was involved in the search for the wreck of the RMS Titanic but missed it by only 3,300 feet (1,000 m)?
I've corrected an error in the lead. Otherwise it looks fine; date and length are good, sources are reliable and the article seems to meet all the criteria. Good to go with ALT1. Prioryman (talk) 09:03, 24 March 2012 (UTC)
ALT2 ... that the French research vessel Le Suroît (pictured) was involved in the search for the wreck of the RMS Titanic but missed it by only a kilometre?
3300 feet? ... come on! its a hook ... do we have to pretend that is was that precise - lets make it more attractive Victuallers (talk) 14:21, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
The article says "within 3,300 feet (1,000 metres)" so I think we should use the hook:
ALT3 ... that the French research vessel Le Suroît (pictured) was involved in the search for the wreck of the RMS Titanic but missed it by less than one kilometre?
