Robert Burgess (rugby)
[edit]... that Robert Burgess was knocked off his bike by a shell?
- Reviewed: Template:Did you know nominations/Beer in Northern Ireland
- Comment: If possible, for 9 December, centenary of death in WWI, please.

@FunkyCanute: Did you mean Nov 29 as the centenary? You have the approved Vincent McNamara in a subsection that says November 29 (Centenary of death).Oh, now I know what you're doing. Centenary of death of the individual. Never mind. — Maile (talk) 00:36, 12 November 2015 (UTC)

... that a hundred years ago today, Robert Burgess was killed after being knocked off his bike by a shell?
- ALT1
- This article is new enough and long enough. I have replaced the word "bomb" in the hook by the word "shell". The hook fact has an inline citation to an offline source and is accepted in good faith. The article is neutral and I detected no policy issues. If this is to appear on the mainpage on December 9th, ALT1 could be used, and I have added a citation to cover his date of death. - ALT1 looks good to me. FunkyCanute (talk) 11:01, 6 December 2015 (UTC)
- This nomination was unfortunately never moved to the special occasions section, and I just noticed this now, four hours after the last set for December 9 hit the main page. I'm afraid this will need a new hook. It could be a completely different fact, or the same one but with "today" replaced by "this month", which would allow the hook to run any time over the next three weeks:
- ALT2: ... that a hundred years ago this month, Robert Burgess was killed after being knocked off his bike by a shell?
- FunkyCanute, would that work? Cwmhiraeth, if that's acceptable, can you append an appropriate tick? Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 16:30, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
- ALT2 should be fine. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 18:03, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
- "this month" seems superfluous, proposing ALT3... FunkyCanute (talk) 18:58, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
- ALT3: ... that a hundred years ago, Robert Burgess was killed after being knocked off his bike by a shell?
- ALT3 is OK too. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 20:53, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
