Transfiguration Church in Kovalyovo
[edit]- ... that frescos painted in the year 1380 inside the Transfiguration Church in Novgorod Oblast, Russia, were destroyed during World War II and finally restored in the 1960s?

- Interesting hook, supported. I find the article a bit short (technically just long enough), is there a bit of knowledge about the themes of the frescoes, for example? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:29, 17 June 2012 (UTC)

- Much better, thank you. I don't read Russian, but accept the sources AGF. Would it be possible to add English description to the picture of Jesus? If it is from the church I think it might look better in small size than the church pic, what do you think? I am not an expert in church description, could you perhaps find someone who is to check some terms? I am not sure about: "the ruins were put on conservation", "altar part" (apse?), "the inner surface of the dome", "warrior saints". User:Peter I. Vardy writes on churches a lot, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:44, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
- I think you may have meant these comments for Ymblanter. But I wanted to add that you have a good idea about swapping the image out with the picture of Jesus. The church is dark in the reduced size. Maile66 (talk) 20:15, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks foe reviewing. I swapped the pictures (also added English description), fixed a couple of things, and asked User:Peter I. Vardy and User:Ghirlandajo to copyedit when they have time.--Ymblanter (talk) 20:20, 17 June 2012 (UTC)

- Oh, this hook is nice. I like this. How about you, Ymblanter? Maile66 (talk) 22:57, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
