Wayne Jacks, Ben Hess

- ... that Wayne Jacks and Ben Hess were among the 86 drivers who attempted to qualify for the inaugural Brickyard 400?

- The Bushranger, both new, in time, long enough, sourced, inline hook citation checks out in the Hess article, but the hook fact is not in the Jacks article. No apparent copyvios, two QPQs done. Are you intentionally splitting "inaugural Brickyard 400" between two links? It would seem to make more sense just linking to the 1994 Brickyard 400, unless you're trying to split the traffic between the articles. Non-DYK suggestions about the Jacks article: how about putting the "key" for the results table in the article itself? That would be far more convenient than looking around for an explanation, and then clicking on it out of the uncertain belief that it might provide the answer. Also, why aren't his NASCAR Winston West Series results given, considering he seems to have competed in it more than anything? --Usernameunique (talk) 10:28, 26 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Usernameunique: Bah, I knew I was going to forget something; I wrote the Jacks article first, and then when I decided to do Hess I realised there was an "oh, hey, workable connection here" thing. Added a Brickyard bit to Jacks' article accordingly. I split the Brickyard 400 link because otherwise it felt a little bit like it was an over-emphasized link, but that's probably just my silliness so I've changed that to just point to the invidiual race. As for the other questions: while I'm not sure if it's actually codified anywhere, it is consensus-through-universal-useage that the key for the tables is not included in drivers' articles; I don't believe a single other one does. And Winston West is not included in the results tables because, while I have seen some drivers' articles sprout tables for everything down to ARCA and even lower, I believe it's a best practice to list only the "major league" series, if you will, as tabled results, which for NASCAR would be Cup, Busch/Nationwide/Xfinity, and Trucks. - The Bushranger One ping only 10:42, 26 December 2017 (UTC)
- No problem, I figured that was what probably happened. That makes sense on the other two; I see both sides, but definitely best to just pick one and run with it. --Usernameunique (talk) 10:48, 26 December 2017 (UTC)
