US at the 2012 summer olympics - There appears to be a discrepancy in the total numbers of competitors who have qualified for the US so far, ie: 439. Reviewing the individual sections for each sport it appears that an absolutd maximum of 395 athletes have qualified so far, and that assumes no athletes with multiple qualifications. Part of the discrepancy may be the inclusion of football in the article twice under the headings of both football and soccer. Could the figures be reviewed, please?

Over the past 5-6 weeks GB have won additional places in boxing (Taylor, Ogogo, Jonas, Adams and Marshall), fencing (Sheppard) and mountain bike cycling (Last) but the competitor total has not been increased from 501 to 508. Unfortunately I cannot make this change myself. 149.254.187.210 (talk) 11:13, 22 May 2012 (UTC)

Which article does this relate to? (I don't see any reference to 501 on this template.) — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 20:19, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

Great Britain at the 1908 summer olympics - opening page - number of competitors.

A British Olympic Association website press release entitled "Team GB first nation to enter London 2012 Olympic Games" dated 9th July 2012 states that the current team of 542 is the largest since the 676 competitors who represented GB in 1908.

Given that there is now a known figure for the number of British competitors in 1908 could this article be amended accordingly? I am unable to make the amendment myself.
