Light or narrow?
[edit]This change suggests that the railway is a light railway rather than a narrow-gauge one. Light_railway#United_Kingdom suggests otherwise. I have reverted the change for the time being until an agreement is reached. The use of the blue "u" icons seems to be generally reserved for metro-style light rail. I'm happy to be convinced otherwise. Bazza (talk) 09:36, 10 April 2016 (UTC)
- The icons shown are for different types of railway. The red is for standard gauge and mainline trains and the blue is used for metro trains and so many other narrow gauge railway templates use this blue instead of narrow, which I believe is intended for use with standard gauge icons, as despite there being blue narrow icons, only the red narrow gauge icons connect to the standard gauge railway (ABZg+nr). I only altered the table because the railway is a light railway and the narrow gauge icons are really used for small works trains, like the ones used to build the channel tunnel Nathan A RF (talk) 12:15, 10 April 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for the examples of current use. I agree. I have changed the diagram from red narrow-gauge icons to blue light rail. However, too much other information for a route summary had been added (which I note you have been asked to avoid in the past), so I have not reinstated that. There is no need to mark the entire route with heritage railway symbols, nor verge towards a tourist information service by showing car parks and the like. I have only emboldened the BHF stations, and I have removed the road icons as per MOS:IM.
- I notice that a previous edit you did added unexplained abbreviations to the road crossings. I had to refer to an external site linked from the text to understand the meaning of this cryptic information (which, suggests is incorrect). I have removed all as the icons used suffice; if more information is required, then it should be in the text. Bazza (talk) 16:03, 10 April 2016 (UTC)
